Custom Furniture • Architectural Woodwork • Residential Fabrication
Olek Inc. creates one-of-a-kind furniture, built-ins, cabinetry, architectural woodwork and decorative features for private homes. From a statement table or fitted bookcase to exact replication of historic millwork, Olek combines traditional hand skills, modern fabrication tools and in-house finishing to turn a specific idea into a piece that belongs in the architecture around it.
Designed Around Your Home — Not A Catalog
Olek collaborates with homeowners, interior designers, architects and builders to fabricate pieces around the dimensions, materials, function and visual language of a specific home. Projects can begin with a sketch, inspiration image, existing object, designer drawing or a detail that must be replicated exactly. The goal is not a near match—it is a resolved piece that feels intentional in its setting.

Custom storage, shelving and casework can be shaped around walls, openings, collections, technology and unusual conditions so the finished installation belongs to the room rather than looking added later.

Paneling, mantels, trims, moldings and other architectural elements can be newly designed or made to continue an existing historic vocabulary, including profiles and details no longer available off the shelf.

When a residential concept crosses disciplines, Olek can combine carving, woodwork, metal fabrication, fiberglass and specialty finishing to fabricate sculptural or decorative elements that conventional cabinet shops may not be equipped to execute.

Dimensions, proportions, clearances, sightlines and adjacent architecture are resolved around the actual room—not a standard product size.
Existing furniture, moldings, carvings, veneers and architectural details can be studied and reproduced when a faithful match is more important than a reinterpretation.
Cabinetmaking, carving, marquetry, metalwork, sculpting and decorative finishing can be coordinated in-house when a project crosses traditional trade boundaries.
01
Olek fabricates one-of-a-kind tables, consoles, desks, cabinets and furniture designed around a specific room or brief. Proportion, joinery, edge details, hardware, finish and material transitions can all be developed as part of the piece rather than selected from a catalog.
02
Fitted shelving, libraries, display cabinetry, storage and custom casework are fabricated to the architecture and use of the room. Olek can work from designer or architect drawings, develop fabrication details, or help resolve a concept from dimensions and reference material.
03
Wall paneling, wainscot, mantels, trims, decorative moldings and related architectural woodwork can be fabricated for new interiors or matched to an existing home. Traditional joinery, hand carving, marquetry and decorative finishing are available where the design requires them.
04
Newels, balusters, rails, decorative stair components and custom architectural details can be newly designed or reproduced from an original element. Wood and metal disciplines can be coordinated when the design requires both.
05
Carved wood, fabricated metal, fiberglass and mixed-media elements can be produced for sculptural accents, decorative installations and unusual residential features. Olek’s cross-disciplinary shop is particularly useful when the finished object does not fit neatly into one trade.
06
Olek can reproduce existing furniture, missing components, moldings and architectural woodwork when the new work must visually continue the old. Species, veneer, profiles, joinery, carving, surface texture and finish can all be considered in the match.
Why Olek
A custom residential piece often needs more than a cabinet shop or furniture maker working in isolation. Olek combines furniture knowledge, architectural woodwork, carving, metal fabrication and finishing so complicated details can be coordinated within one shop. When an existing piece must be repaired rather than replaced, the scope can also connect with Olek’s residential restoration services ; upholstery work can be coordinated through residential reupholstery .
Craftsmanship since 1950
20,000 sq. ft. New Jersey facility
25+ full-time craftsmen across disciplines
Design collaboration, fabrication, finishing & installation coordination
From Inspiration To Buildable Detail
Projects do not have to arrive fully engineered. Olek can review inspiration images, measurements, an existing object, architect or designer drawings, and site conditions to help translate the design intent into shop drawings, fabrication details, material selections and finish samples . For exact replication, the original piece or profile can become the reference standard rather than a generic approximation.
Materials, Craft & Finish
Solid hardwoods, figured veneers and decorative veneer work can be selected around grain, color, stability and the visual character of the room. Marquetry and hand-cut detail can be incorporated when the design calls for it.
Residential fabrication can extend beyond wood. Metal components, fiberglass forms and mixed-media assemblies can be coordinated within the same project when a sculptural or architectural concept crosses material boundaries.
Oil, lacquer, wax, decorative finishing and custom coating systems can be sampled and adjusted to the material, desired sheen, color and use of the piece. Finish development is treated as part of the design—not a final afterthought.

From Idea To Installation
01
Olek reviews the space, intended use, dimensions, inspiration, existing pieces and design goals with the homeowner or project team to define what the piece needs to accomplish.
02
Fabrication or shop drawings, material selections, hardware, joinery details and finish samples can be developed as needed so the project is resolved before production begins.
03
Woodworkers, carvers, metalworkers and finishers fabricate the approved design, coordinating multiple disciplines inside Olek’s New Jersey facility when the scope requires them.
04
Olek can coordinate local delivery and installation, or project-specific shipping for work traveling farther from the shop. Final installation requirements are reviewed around access, protection and fit.
Local Installation • Project-Specific Shipping
Olek’s shop is based in Orange, New Jersey, with convenient project coordination throughout the New York metropolitan area. Furniture and removable pieces can also travel by specialty carrier, while delivery or installation for larger architectural work is planned around the scope, site and destination. Olek’s existing furniture logistics extend well beyond the local market, with carrier coordination available for projects across the United States.
Olek fabricates custom furniture, built-in shelving and bookcases, cabinetry, architectural paneling and moldings, mantels, stair components, balustrades, sculptural features and other one-of-a-kind residential elements.
